PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Airport Runway Construction

The site is located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide and is one of the world’s most significant deposits of copper, gold, silver and uranium.

Roads 2000 have been engaged on a construct only contract for the execution and delivery of the airside works and landside works.

CONTRACT SUMMARY
The Airport Upgrade project includes the construction of a new runway, taxiway and aprons. Once complete this will support mine operations permitting FIFO workers to commute to and from the mine site.

The scope of work includes:

Airside works:
- Bulk earthworks
- Asphalt
- Line marking

The existing runway currently accommodates 50-seater aircrafts (currently Fokker F50’s). Once complete, the new runway will accommodate up to 100-seater jet operations.

BHP’s South Flank Mine is located in the heart of the Pilbara. Roads 2000 were engaged to complete mobile asphalt production and paving to construct roadways, carparks and hardstands.

Nova Mine, Fraser Range

The Nova Operation is located approximately 160km east of Norseman, in remote Western Australia. Mobile Asphalt works were carried out to ensure high quality and product longevity.

The project was completed in July 2014. The shelters demonstrate how important it is to show environmental leadership among industries in Wangara and to go beyond the expectations of our environmental licence.
